The Book on the Bus
Leo works at a bank in the city. Every morning at eight, he takes the number 12 bus. He always sits by the window.
A young woman often sits near him. Her name is Mia, but Leo doesn't know that.
Mia always has a book in her hands. She reads on the bus every day. Leo likes her smile, but he never talks to her. He is very shy.
Today, Mia gets off the bus at Park Street. But her book is still on the seat!
Leo takes the book. It is an old love story. On the first page, there are two words: "Mia's book."
In the evening, Leo looks at the book on his table. He is nervous.
The next morning, Leo is at the bus stop with the book. Mia is there too. She looks worried.
"Excuse me," Leo says. "Is this your book?"
"Yes! Oh, thank you!" Mia says. "I love this book."
Then she looks at him. "Do you like love stories?"
Leo turns red. "Yes, I do. I usually read at night."
"What's your name?" she asks.
"Leo. And you're Mia, right?"
Mia is surprised. "How do you know my name?"
Leo opens the book and shows her the first page. Mia laughs, and they get on the bus together.
Now Leo and Mia always sit together on the bus. They talk about books every morning. Mia doesn't read on the bus anymore, but she is very happy.
